Quick Answer: How Many Units Are in Command An Army?

Command An Army has 26 named units as of September 12, 2026 (Update 1). Ten are on the Standard Banner summon pool: four 1-star starters (Mercenary, Shieldman, Spearman, Archer), the 2-star Scout Rider, the 3-star Crossbowman, and four 4-star units (Spartan, Immortal, Berserker, Samurai). Eight more are evolved forms unlocked by leveling base units to 20 (Mercenary→Squire→Knight, Shieldman→Sentinel→Imperial Wall, etc.), and eight were added in Update 1 on September 12 (Spear Militia, Halberder, Javelineer, Flaming Archers, Mace, plus their evolved forms). Update 2 on September 19 adds Mongol units. (Roster cross-checked September 19, 2026 against creator stat-card videos and the in-game banner screen.)

Standard Banner Units (Summonable)

The Standard Banner is the main summon pool. Stars are both rarity and loadout cost: a 3-star unit uses three points of your star limit. The odds below are from the in-game summon screen; the full pity breakdown is on the summons page.

💡 The 4-star units (Spartan, Immortal, Samurai, Berserker) sit in S tier on every creator list. Without them, Crossbowman and Scout Rider are the best units most players own.

Update 1 Units (September 12, 2026)

Update 1 added eight units on September 12, 2026, focused on block damage to counter Spartan-and-Shieldman walls. Five come with 3-star evolved forms.

Update 2 (September 19, 2026) — Guilds, Ranked & New Units

Update 2 is live as of September 19, 2026 (the Roblox listing is now "[GUILD & RANKED] Command An Army"). It adds Guilds, Ranked mode, new Rapier units and a Parry combat mechanic; the events page also listed Mongol units for the update window (September 19-25). The specific new-unit names, star ratings and summon odds have not been published yet — this page adds them the moment they appear on the in-game banner.

💡 Three Update 2 codes are live (RANKED, NEW GUILD, NEW PARRY — 300 Gems each) alongside the seven earlier codes. See the codes page for the full verified list.

Evolved Units (Level 20 Unlocks)

Eight units are unlocked by evolving a base unit at level 20. The evolution path is: 1-star base → 2-star evolved → 3-star final form (for some units).

Player Classes (Your Character)

Your character (not your units) has three classes: Assassin, Sword & Shield, and Hammer. The class only changes how your own character fights, not your troops. Changing class costs 50 Gems.

Which Units Are Best?

Every creator tier list puts the four 4-star units (Spartan, Immortal, Samurai, Berserker) in S tier. Without them, Crossbowman and Scout Rider are the best units most players own. The 1-star starters are filler until you can evolve or replace them.

  • S tier: Spartan, Immortal, Samurai, Berserker (4-star units, very low summon odds)
  • A tier: Crossbowman, Scout Rider (3-star and 2-star, accessible)
  • B tier: Evolved forms (Knight, Sentinel, etc. — require level 20 grind)
  • C tier: 1-star starters and Update 1 units (still being evaluated by the community)

Starter Units

After the tutorial you claim starter troops from Mercenary, Shieldman, Spearman and Archer, all 1-star units. The tutorial itself hands you Knights to break the first gate.

Can You Buy Units Instead of Summoning?

Some units. The lobby store sold Pikeman, Sentinel and Squire when AccelToWin toured it on September 9, 2026. The 4-star units only come from the banner.
